The PR Wars “Caught You Being Good” segment recognizes real world examples of best practices in public relations.

Zoom video conferencing launched a positive campaign for the Thanksgiving holiday.

By removing the 40-minute time limit, people isolated by the pandemic can spend more time on a video call for free. You can eat a holiday meal virtually with friends and family that are unable to visit you.

What I love about this campaign is that it recognizes the company’s higher purpose. This service brings people together.

Too often, companies take themselves too literally. They look at product benefits like speed, connection bandwidth, or resolution. But, every company has a product or service that makes the world a better place. It’s the reason that companies exist.

What is your company’s higher purpose? Zoom realizes that its product is more than software. It’s human connection. Happy Thanksgiving.
